So, I finally landed in IPG (Institut Perkim-Goon) to take up CAT( certified accounting technician ). It was my first day in class. I went to class with my hairs combed,blue checks,pepsi trousers and mocassin shoes without socks. Before i go to the class, i was wondering if i can get along with my classmates as i know, ill be older than all of them. I have this phobia of speaking about my age at that time. I didnt like revealing bout myself too much cos i find it embarassing.

The first class was at 2pm, the subject name is, Office Practice and Procedures. Also known as OPP. My lecturer was a fine young man. The class was interesting.

The first person i know was, William Ching Shin Jian. Those of u who know this fellow, will agree with me he is a very funny guy… a super sanguine. He approached me first. I was quite hostile in the begining as i didnt like sharing bout myself. The first question he asked me was, "So how was SPM ? ". Hahahaha… i left skool for almost 3 years and this guy thought i just finished SPM. So i answered back, ok ler. Cos he didnt specify that he was refering to 2001 SPM… Than later i told him i am now 20 years old. I think he was shocked. Biasa ler… budak budak baru tamat SPM. Masih belum kenal dunia.

William a very friendly guy. And a very authentic joker. One of a kind.. Till today, i still thank GOD i know this guy. He taught me how to love my family and forgive watever my parents did. William is one guy who really admires his own father. His father is his role model. He shared with me during lunch, about his dreams of becoming an accountant like his father. Good for him… hes got a role model at home.

Then he asked me about mine. Hahaha.. i told him, i never want to be an accountant in my life. I only think of fast graduation and FREEDOM.

Then i told him… my so called worldly dream, to be a well-known musician someday. I wanted to be a great internationally known bassist like Marcus Miller, Billy Sheehan, Victor Wooten, Stanley Clarke , Jaco Pastorious, John Myung, Flea, Abraham Laboriel and many more. Today, this dream is over… for me… keke. Ive decided to follow JESUS. God has even higher call for me.

William was an encouraging brother in my walk with Christ. I admire his family for their life so dedicated to GOD. Every morning his parents will wake up and pray together at 7am together before going to work. Williams parents gave me one advice ill never forget. " If u really love GOD and want to go to church, Pray hard, and GOD will make a way".

At tat time he didnt have transport to classes every morning. So, i offered him a ride to classes every morning as i was on my way from butterworth to IPG. From this i know that both of us are not morning type of people. Along the way, we shared a lot about our life, and became good friends.

CAT classes are fun. The people i met there were very friendly. All of us come from different ages. Yet we can mingle around. I really miss those CAT days.

However… life was never a bed of roses for me…
