A Good experience in FLOORBALL !!!
Frontliners 3 Contact Sports 2
Yea… we finally won the game against Contact Sports, 3-2. 1 goal each from Kuan Yang, Steven and Serene Tan sealed our victory against Contact Sports. Contact Sports got their 2 goals from their goalkeeper turned forward, Scott. Unfortunately for Contact Sports, their key player Edward Lim wasnt around to play for them. Ms Penny Khoo, was the player that kept the team sustaining throughout the game through her commanding role in defense. At a moment, the were actually on the way to win us. They scored the first goal. Fortunately, the Frontliners kept their spirits right. And that made us
won the game. However, from what ive heard, the return match will be tougher. It seems theyve got a secret plan for the next game against us. We’ll see how it goes.
Dalat 9 Frontliners 3
Although we won contact sports, we lost the game against Dalat 3-9. But ive got no hard feelings bout it. I didnt feel sad at all, which i usually do. The game against Dalat was a new experience for me. Playing against bigger, more experienced, faster and better players, i must say we are in a different league. For your info, team Dalat is formed by Dalat international school. This means we are playing against Ang Mohs(caucasians) that are bigger and taller than us. And the best part of the game, is to be able to play against our Malaysian National squad players.
Aggressive Play
One thing i like playing against Ang Moh is that, theyre tough. Even if u played more aggression, they wont be complaining…
For some one my size, believe it or not i shouldered one Ang Moh whose taller than me to the benches. Dun play play with me.. keke.. i growed up playing football wit bigger and taller players(when i was a teenager, i was the shortest among my collegues, i wasnt naturally tall). He asked for it, he pushed me first. Of course ill push back. But in the end of the day, no hard feelings.
I didnt throw my stick. It flew.
There was one part in the game, i knocked my stick on the ground. But wat happened was, the stick flew away. Everyone, including my teammates, spectators and the referee thought i throwed my stick. No No No… u all got me wrong…
I wasnt even angry. Just a little annoyed. The referee stopped the game. I almost got an unnecessary 2 minutes sent off. I guess, people misunderstand me cos ive built a bad reputation for myself all this while for my temper.. hahaha… it runs in the family. Those whom have been close to me knew tat i wasnt angry…
Thanx for the trust.
Sarsi-the marksman
One of their player, the no.11, Malaysian National Player, Sarsi impressed me trumendously. Hes shown me how far floorball can go. First time playing floorball, i have this feeling called FEAR. I got scared throughout the whole game that i couldnt play. My hands just cant do what i usually do.
Hes ball control is so good. He is the most accelerated player ive ever met. He can easily dribble past all of us. His spin-offs are as fast as his running. Hes shots are fast. And the best part is, he could do the air hook. Ive never seen people doing airhook in front of me before. And he does all of this at will.
Empowered for excellence !!!
After playing the whole game, negative thoughts kept clouding my mind. I thought of retiring floorball. I was considering where I am in floorball, ive got a long way to go. But after the game, when everyone went back, i interviewed that player i mentioned. Hes very humble for someone at his level. He gave me lots of tips and makes it sound that its achievable to play like him.
I felt encouraged after talking to him. And not just tat, im also excited on working towards a higher level of play. Although i thought those guys are good. They arent unbeatable…
they lost their first match against Innebandy 8-4. Good individual skills still have to give way to good team play. Floorball is just exciting. The future is ours !!!
