Im the coach now… :)

Im finally the coach of Frontliners Floorball club. Ive been coaching the boys for 5 sessions. And to be honest, I LOVE THE JOB… to my bones :)

Some ppl dun like my style. I dun care. I know wat i am doing. My training is only meant to train those whom are willing to GO THE DISTANCE. It is designed to kill those whom are not willing to train hard and not committed to the team. My training is relatively demanding physically and mentally than our previous trainings. Oh yes, i shout more than anyone as a coach.

The training that imposed slowly selected off and killed those not so committed ones. Today, i can proudly say, those that come to training are those whom are really there to share the same vision and dream of mine, TO BE THE BEST FLOORBALL PLAYER WE CAN EVER BE. Nowadays, ppl come on time for training. And, they are determined to improve. Not all of them are good players YET. But they will be great ones one day if they continue to train hard. They all have the mindset of a champion. To build a strong team, u need to kill the weaklings(in terms of attitude and willpower).

The most inspiring ones are our new recruits from St Xaviers school. I remember when they first came, there were 12 of them. I killed 6 of them. The 6 remaining, are those that will always make my coaching experience a memorable one.

Because of their passion, they made exponential progress. In just 4 sessions wit me, Joshua, can now take decent wrist shots and became their school’s top marksman. San Jeevan rose up from a determined defender into an aggressive forward constantly giving problems to the opposition defence. Mekananth with untiring runs and unlimited stamina is now the captain of the St.Xaviers team.

Our penang league player , former free schooler ,Teen Chuan has shown great progress as well. With determination he began scoring  goals after a few sessions with me. He was an unfit player with low stamina when he played for us previously. Today… he is one of the best goal poacher in my team. Always in the right place at the right time. Well done.

Kah Beng, another free schooler, started off as a player whom is not athletic and low self confidence. Today hes able to defend well, clear the balls and finally gained his confidence to play on the courts. Im so proud of these boys.

These fellows and a few more others not mentioned, reminded me of my first few days playing floorball. I was so passionate, determined and hungry in floorball. Some say im too crazy about it. Some even say, not everyone is as passionate as u, so slow down. Some say u cant do it. Perhaps im too driven. I was alone. Today, im no longer alone. My best buddy Kuan Yang is now the Penang squad first choice forward and im so proud tat he made it there (ill catch up n join u some day.. thanks for the inspiration :) ).

I just cant wait for these whole team to mature into seasoned players. Then, we can fight together as comrades in a team.

I used to enjoy improving my skills. But the true joy flows when i see these boys showing progress and being able to be wat ive always wanted to be. I know they can make it. Ill make sure they make it one day. :)
